The Project.Labour exhibition, podcast and the accompanying reader is a multi-layered international artistic and curatorial exchange. Through cross-disciplinary dialogue, the participating artists and curators negotiate the relationship between new and historic, localised and international evolutions of manufacturing, automation and distribution processes, looking at these processes as cultural formations. The curatorial focus on exchange synthesises three research projects which, from different positions, explore the significance of the relationship between humans and machines and consequential reconfigurations of the notion of labour.
Curators: Živa Kleindienst, Tadej Vindiš
Artists: Nicola Arthen, Sanela Jahić, Samantha Penn
Graphic Design: Dorijan Šiško
The project was produced by Association Kombajn and supported by Foundation Sonda, the City Municipality of Maribor and ACE KIBLA.
Accompanying the exhibition, we published a Project.Labour reader, which is a result of a conversation between curators, artists and a graphic designer, and theoretical reflective writing.
In collaboration with GT22 Transnational Guerilla Art School we recorded an episode of GT22's Maribor is the Future podcast, which is a conversation between Sanela Jahic, Nicola Arthen, Samantha Penn, Mateja Visenjak, Živa Kleindienst and Tadej Vindiš, and produced by Youreup Radio.
